What happened in Megiddo in the Bible?
Asked 3 years ago
I read online that Megiddo is just a pile of ruins. What happened to it during the bible times, and why was it so significant?

According to research, Megiddo is an ancient city in Israel that has seen a number of military conflicts.
Megiddo is mentioned in relation to the battle between Sisera and Barak (with Deborah the judge). Megiddo was also one of the cities that was rebuilt or fortified by Solomon.
Ahaziah, king of Judah, was wounded in battle against Jehu, who was attempting to overthrow Joram, king of Israel's northern kingdom. Ahaziah fled to Megiddo and died as a result of his wounds.
Also, at Megiddo, King Josiah of Judah fought against Pharaoh Necho and was killed.
