According to experts, you don't need to add sugar, aspirin, ketchup or any other additives to make your tree stay longer. "Clean water still works the best," says tree scientists Les Werner. And you do not have to use distilled water or mineral water. Plant Pathologist Gary Chastagner says "your best bet is plain tap water." Also, you need to make sure you keep your Christmas tree always hydrated and away from heat.
