Mount Sinai in the Sinai Desert between Israel and Egypt, is where Moses received the 10 commandments. Moses was with the Israelites in the wilderness having escaped from slavery in Egypt and on their way to the Promised Land. As a site of divine revelation, Mt. Sinai is sacred to Jews, Christians, and Muslims.
