Mahmoudiya Mosque is the biggest and most significant mosque built in Tel Aviv. It was constructed in 1730 as ordered by governor Sheikh Muhammad al-Khalili. Since then, a few alterations have been made to the mosque to make it bigger. It is now a complex of buildings with two big courtyards and a third smaller courtyard.
