What type of fig trees grow in Israel?

Due to Israel's climate figs seem to grow and survive extremely well. This has given rise to a very wide variety of fig cultivars being produced. Since the prophets and even Jesus Himself were used to these fruits being part of their everyday life, figs were used in spiritual analogies.
