Was there something in the temple that he wanted to clear? Did people sin inside the temple?

Well, according to research, Jesus cleanses the temple of it’s matters of men, to make it once again a house God.
Why Did Jesus Cleanse The Temple? Simply to make it a house of God once again. Jesus cleansed the temple as it is meant to be a house of God not a house of men, merchants, and money. The sin was in gouging the people, focusing on money, rather than serving God.
The scriptures warn us against earthly treasures. “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” – Matthew 6:19-21
