The City of David: What does the bible say?

Traditionally, and geographically the City of David has always been seen as a section of Jerusalem since David conquered Jerusem and built his palace there. The apostle Luke, on the other hand, refers to Bethlehem as being the City of David, purely because it was where King David was born.
