Is Israeli hummus different from the hummus of other countries?
Asked 3 years ago
I've made hummus using chickpeas and tahini. However, I recently found out that it is traditionally Israeli? Why is hummus Israeli, and what is it made of?

Hummus in Middle Eastern countries, including Israel, is made the same way, using chickpeas. Egyptian, Greek, Lebanese, Turkish, and Israeli hummus have the same basis. But the flavour varies depending on added ingredients like tahini, lemon juice, salt, garlic and spices. There are several traditional Israeli hummus (Palestinian hummus) toppings including fava beans, mushrooms, and tahini (hummus-bi-tahini).
