Why is the Cenacle important to Christianity?

Asked 3 years ago

My in-laws regard the Cenacle as a very sacred place, I, on the other hand, am not very religious, and I don't know what happened at the Cenacle and why it is so important. I decided to ask about it in this community because I don't want to get a bad rep from my new in-laws.

The Cenacle is another name for the Room of the Last Supper or the Upper Room. This is where Jesus and his disciples had the Last Supper on the eve of Jesus' arrest. It is significant because it is the scriptural base of the Christian tradition of the Eucharist (Holy Communion).
