What does Bethany represent in the Bible?
Asked 3 years ago
Hi, I understand that the bibe is full of metaphors, and I wondered whether Bethany - the small village by the Mount of Olives - serves as a biblical symbol for anything?

Bethany means "house of affliction" or "house of figs." The small town on the southeastern slope of the Mount of Olives was home to Mary, Martha, and Lazarus. The miracle of the resurrection of Lazarus took place here. And here Mary anointed Jesus' feet with perfume. But the town does not specifically represent something in the Bible.
