Jonah was a prophet sent by God to deliver a message to a city called Nineveh. The message was “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!”. He decided to disobey God and not deliver the message. However, when he was journeying on a ship, the waves came up and he told other travellers that his disobedience to God was the cause of the wave and asked for them to push him into the sea. They did and a whale swallowed him and deliver him at the city of Nineveh where he later delivered God's message. The King of Nineveh declared a fast and asked for the mercy of God. God later had mercy on Neniveh. We can learn the following from this story:
1. God's mercy is infinite
2. Obedience brings a blessing
3. We should not hide our talent, but use it to serve God.
4. Hiding or running away from God is not a solution.
5. A storm is an opportunity to witness God’s love.
6. God is willing to accept everyone to repentance.
