Where is the Garden of Gethsemane located today?
Asked 4 years ago
I was told that this olive tree grove is where Jesus spent the night before his crucifixion. Does it still exist today? What really happened in the Garden of Gethsemane? I also noticed that two names come up: the Mount of Olives and Gethsemane. Are they the same place?

The Garden of Gethsemane still exists! It is a grove of Jerusalem olive trees on the lower slopes of the Mount of Olives, across the Kidron Valley from the Old City walls in Jerusalem. On the night before Christ's crucifixion, He went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray. Then Judas led the Chief Priests and soldiers to the garden. Judas greeted Jesus with a kiss, as a sign to the soldiers that this was the man they sought. Jesus was arrested and led away.
