When was Stella Maris monastery built in Haifa?
Asked 3 years ago
We'll be visiting the City of Haifa in Israel soon and want to learn a little more about the history of Mount Carmel and the Stella Maris Monastery. What can you tell us?

The current church and monastery was opened in 1836. The Stella Maris Monastery or the Monastery of Our Lady of Mount Carmel for monks is a 19th-century Discalced Carmelite monastery located on the slopes of Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel. I think the Discalced Carmelite is the order which it belongs to.
