What is traditional Israeli food?
Asked 3 years ago
Hi, I'm making a list of popular foods in Israel to try out on our next vacation. What do you recommend we try out, and what can we not eat?

Israeli food is extremely diverse, as immigrants have settled here from many different cultures. The obvious traditional Israeli foods (which are mostly street foods) include falafel, hummus, shawarma, kebab, pita bread, and shakshuka. In Jerusalem try "meorav Yerushalmi" mixed grilled meats. Also try ethnic foods that have become staples in Israeli culinary culture like Yemenite soup, Moroccan chraime, and Iraqi sabich.
