Jehoiachin was released from prison after being held captive for being a wicked ruler f Babylon. So why was he treated well and given the seat next to the King after his release?

Jehoiachin as a king represented the nation and as such he was punished for their sins. In the prison, he didn't have dignity as a king and even as a human. The change in his condition means hope not only for him but for all the nation. God´s anger would not last forever and his love for his people is bigger than anything else.

Historical artefacts tell the story of Nebuchadnezzar‘s son, Amel-Marduk being imprisoned alongside Jehoiachin for trying to overthrow his father's kingdom. Legend has it that they became friends during this time. When Nebuchadnezzar passed away his son succeeded him. Being well acquainted Amel-Marduk set Jehoiachin and Israel free. It was this friendship that ensured that Jehoiachin was treated this kindly.
