Is Mount Sinai the same as Mount Zion?
Asked 3 years ago
I was in bible group the other day, and they talked about the events that took place, but I'm all mixed up now. Are these different mountains or the same mountain with two different names?

Well, I don't think they are the same place. Mount Sinai is renowned as the principal site of divine revelation in Jewish history, where God appeared to Moses and gave him the Ten Commandments. I think mount Sinai is locates in Egypt while mount Zion is located in Jerusalem.
According to research, Zion can indicate one of three places: the hill where the earliest location of Jerusalem stood; the city of Jerusalem itself; or the dwelling place of God.
Zion, in the Old Testament, the easternmost of the two hills of ancient Jerusalem, was the site of the Jebusite city captured by David, king of Israel and Judah, in the 10th century BC (2 Samuel 5:6–9) and established by him as his royal capital.
