When and where was Matthew the Apostle born?

Can anyone please tell me more about the disciple, Matthew?

The New Testament doesn't tell us where, we can only assume. Jesus was in Galilee, more precisely in the town called "his" (Gospel of Matthew, Chapter 9) when he met a tax collector named Matthew. The town was Capernaum and Matthew became one of Jesus´s followers. We don´t know if Matthew was born there, but we can assume he was from Galilee.
