During his rule, King Rezin was a tributary to King Tiglath-Pileser III. Rezin decided that he would instigate an uprising against King Tiglath-Pileser III by starting secret coalitions with other Levantine kings to rebel. This rebellion was short-lived as Damascus was overthrown by King Tiglath-Pileser III and Rezin was killed.
