Why do the Armenians have a quarter in Jerusalem?
Asked 3 years ago
So if Jerusalem is the home of Christianity, I don't understand why they have a Christian Quarter and an Armenian Quarter? What is the reason for this?

The Armenian presence in Jerusalem dates back to the 4th century when they adopted Christianity as a national religion and the Armenian monks settled in Jerusalem. The Armenian Quarter is considered to be part of the Christian Quarter. The reason behind having these two-quarters separate is mainly due to the language and culture differences.
