What is the 5-gift rule for Christmas?
Asked 3 years ago
So this is very new to me. Apparently, there is a 5 gift rule? Does anyone know about this? We always just bought the number of gifts we could afford.

The five gift rule is to limit spending on Christmas presents for a loved one to just five gifts that fulfil a particular parameter. These parameters are:
1. Something they want
2. Something they need
3. Something to wear
4. Something to read
5. The 5th gift: The fifth gift is something they want or need but don't know it. It's the real surprise package. You have to listen to them and understand their passion to know what to buy as the fifth gift.
