Is decorating a Christmas tree a Christian tradition?

There is no verse directly talking about the Christmas tree. However some christians believe Leviticus 23:40 may have given some hints. Leviticus 23:40 (KJV) - "And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before thee LORD your God seven days."
Some Christians believe this verse is a hint that the tree is a symbol of celebration, based on the worship of God.
