What are the oldest Christmas Carols?
Asked 4 years ago
Hello all. Who can tell me what was the first Christmas song ever written? I'm looking for old English Christmas songs because we always play modern Christmas carols, and I think it's time to switch it up a bit. Thank you.

The first record of a Christmas hymn is “Jesus Refulsit Omnium”, meaning “Jesus, Light of All the Nations”. This song was written in the fourth century by St Hilary of Poitier. The Roman Christian poet Prudentius, also wrote “Corde Natus ex Parentis”, meaning “Of the Father’s Love Begotten” in the fourth century.
