Where are the Qumran Caves located in Israel?
Asked 4 years ago
I'm absolutely fascinated by the dead sea scrolls and would love to visit the caves in which they were found. Do I understand correctly that it was found by the dead sea? If anyone could give me direction and some more info, it would be amazing. Many thanks!

The Qumran Caves, located on the northwestern shore of the Dead Sea in the Judean Desert, lay between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea beaches. Qumran is known for the Dead Sea Scrolls, discovered in the caves. At the end of the 1967 war, the Israel Nature and Parks Authority declared the caves a National Heritage Site.
