Is it safe to go on a Christian pilgrimage to the Holy Land?
Asked 3 years ago
Hi, I am a Christian woman in her mid 30's who would like to go on a pilgrimage to Israel. Would you say it's safe for me to go alone and travel in-between places like Jerusalem and Bethlehem, or should there be someone with me?

Yes! It is safe for women to travel in Israel. If you are hesitant about safe travel in Israel, take an organized pilgrimage tour. The tour will provide security, and you'll be with a knowledgeable guide who speaks the language and knows the lay of the land. You could travel to Israel independently then take day tours to hard to reach locations or where more security is required, like Bethlehem in the West Bank. You will need your passport to cross into the Palestinian Authority, and tourists cannot enter the Gaza Strip, independently or with a tour.
