According to Wikipedia, there are 500,000-999,999 mature Griffon vultures around the globe. In Israel, there has been an unprecedented decrease in the number of Griffon vultures due to the growing rate of wildlife poisoning, usually by farmers to protect their livestock from predators. In the winter of 2012, the number of Griffon vultures reached a low of 110 matured Griffons in Israel. Although that number has increased slowly since then, in Israel, the majestic Griffon is still critically endangered today.
