Does Falafel taste like American hush puppies?
Asked 3 years ago
I usually eat hush puppies. I've never had a falafel. What is the difference between a hush puppy and a falafel? They look like they could be the same. Are they? What do they taste like?

Falafel and an American hushpuppy are very similar. The hushpuppy is made from cornmeal, while the legumes like chickpeas and fava beans are being used for falafel. They tend to taste like spices and other ingredients. Hushpuppies are usually served with seafood and other fried dishes, while falafel is usually served in a warm pita pocket.
