How many psalms were there, and what was the last psalm that David wrote?

Although David was the author of a few Old Testament books, It is a popular misconception that he authored all of the poetry and hymns in the book of Psalms.  Biblical scholars believe that David was actually only responsible for about 73 chapters contained in the book of Psalms.
